Many people seem to want a female dog. I was the same way, until I got my first male puppy. Unlike the female dogs that I have had, the male dogs love special attention and tend to stay close as long as you want to pet them. My females wander off as soon as they get outside. They are more interested in exploring than being petted.
My males love attention and stay close by while I am doing yard work anticipating getting petted or even better play time!
